Senior Associate II β Litigation & Dispute Resolution (Legal Sector) at Summit Recruitment and Search
The role requires a technically strong Advocate with proven expertise in legal drafting and advocacy, alongside strong client management, leadership and business development capabilities.
Key Responsibilities

Manage and provide strategic legal advice on complex Litigation and Dispute Resolution matters, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery to clients.

Support Partners and Principal Associates in managing complex client matters, while exercising sound independent judgment and escalating issues where appropriate.

Develop and maintain strong client relationships by understanding client needs, providing practical legal solutions and responding promptly to client requirements.

Lead, supervise, mentor and coach junior Associates, Pupils and other team members, including effective delegation and review of work.

Represent clients before courts, tribunals, arbitral panels and other relevant forums, and develop effective litigation and dispute resolution strategies.

Contribute to business development by identifying new opportunities, supporting client pitches and proposals, strengthening existing relationships and contributing to departmental revenue targets.

Manage assigned matters effectively within agreed timelines and budgets, including monitoring time, costs, billing and accounts receivable.

Promote compliance with the Firm's policies, professional standards, ethical requirements and risk-management procedures while maintaining confidentiality and exercising sound professional judgment.

Keep abreast of developments in legislation, case law, industry trends and legal practice, proactively sharing knowledge and identifying opportunities to improve the Firm's services and ways of working.
Key Qualifications

LLB degree from a recognized university.

Admission as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.

Experience in a reputable law firm or in-house legal environment.

At least 5 years' PQE, with more experienced candidates also considered.

The ability to independently manage complex legal matters.

Demonstrable leadership and supervision experience.

Strong communication, legal drafting and advocacy skills.

Strong client relationship-management capabilities.
