Person Specifications (Education, Experience & Competencies)
- Bachelor's degree in any of the following disciplines: Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Business Management, Business Administration, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
- Member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) or a relevant professional body;
- Proficiency in computer applications.
- Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implementing policies, strategies, legislation, guidelines, frameworks, norms, regulations, plans, standards and programs on accounts;
- Monitoring revenue collection and expenditures based on approved budgets;
- Applying sound principles, systems and techniques in accounting for finances, assets, revenue, expenditure and costs;
- Accounting for special funds, programs and projects' funds;
- Preparing and verifying financial reports;
- Processing payments;
- Verifying bank reconciliation statements;
- Authorizing payments and claims within set limits as approved;
- Verifying and receipting all monies due and payable to the Agency;
- Analyzing and reporting on revenue collected to management;
- Ensuring safe custody of accountable documents; and
- Preparing financial management reports.
