DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Project Implementation: Support the Programmes Manager - WASH and Project Officer-WASH in the coordination of the WASH Technical activities according to strategy, proposals, budgets, and plans. Assist the WASH Team in the development of technical guidelines and tools. Conduct daily technical supervision on ongoing works. Work closely with the WASH Team to promote timely planning and implementation of all WASH field activities as planned. Provide full support to WASH Team in maintaining regular contact with relevant stakeholders. Assist in the compilation of periodic WASH Technical reports, program documents, activities, forecast and expenditures. Involve and inform communities and community leaders about the WASH activities. Facilitate capacity building sessions on sanitation and hygiene promotion in schools and at community level. Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting: Work with the Project Officer - MEAL to ensure appropriate, timely and accurate data collection against agreed indicators to enable both internal and external reporting. Lead discussions with communities and beneficiaries on program design and project review. Conduct periodic reviews and report to the WASH Team on any obstacles and recommend mitigation measures. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering/Water Engineering/Environmental Engineering or other relevant fields. Minimum 1 year progressive experience in the WASH sector with an INGO and/or UN agency. Previous experience in supervising construction works is an added advantage. SKILLS: Good organisational and time management skills. Ability to work in a pressured work environment with frequent critical deadlines. Proficient in negotiation skills. Attention to details and good numeric accuracy. Skilled in Microsoft Suite applications and design modelling software like AutoCad and ArchiCad. Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
