Reporting to the Relationship Manager – Business Development (Zonal Leader) the Job holder will be responsible for steering the Branch into high level of performance through proper people management strategies, high business generation, people management and championing a customer-centric culture at the Branch.  Â
**Key Duties & Responsibilities **
Take the leadership role at the Branch and mentor the Branch staff towards the achievement of the Banks’ Mission, Vision and the Banks’ Strategic Objectives.  Â
Ensure achievement of set targets in Customer Service, Customer Retention, Deposits growth, growth in quality Loan Portfolio.  Â
Develop and maintain critical relationships at the Branch to enhance business DevelopmentÂ
Enhance relationships with SME’s, High Net worth Individuals, Churches and Institutions to grow business.Â
Maintain a balanced portfolio on Church, SME, and Retail and Corporate deposits. Implement strategies on penetration of business segments, markets and sectors.Â
Ensure growth of non-funded income business including transactional, alternate and direct banking business.Â
Ensure staff productivity is maintained through support, mentorship, and TAT and customer service.Â
Ensure compliance with both internal and external regulatory requirements.Â
Working closely with risk and compliance units to ensure effective controls to mitigate against business risks associated with Business.Â
**Key Qualities, Competencies& Experiences **
Must be a practicing Christian who lives and upholds Christian values, with a passion to serveÂ
Minimum of 5 years Banking experience; both in Banking Operations and CreditÂ
Management, 2 of which must have been in a supervisory or managerial position in aÂ
Micro Finance or Commercial Bank. Â
Experience and understanding of Micro Finance business will be an added advantageÂ
Good people Management skills and proven ability to achieve results through othersÂ
Have excellent negotiation, sales and marketing skillsÂ
Strong customer service skillsÂ
Excellent report writing and presentation skills.Â
Self-driven, results-oriented individual with a positive outlook Â
Must have a clear focus on high portfolio quality and business profitÂ
Able to get on with others and be a team-player with excellent interpersonal skillsÂ
**Qualifications **
A Bachelor’s degree in any Business-related field Â
Professional qualifications in Credit Management (CCP) and/or Diploma in Banking will be an added advantage.  Â
Must be adept in ICT, and working knowledge of T24 will be an added advantageÂ

The job holder will be charged with conducting rigorous loan appraisals.  He/she will ensure all credit requests are underwritten in line with laid down internal policies, procedures, product guidelines and best practices. The role undertakes a preventive approach in de-risking lending to ensure high portfolio performance, ease of recovery, competitive turn-around time and avoidance of unwarranted or emerging risks through time-to-time recommendations on areas of improvement.Â
**Key Duties & Responsibilities **
To participate and support the Spiritual formations and rhythms in the Bank, in order to maintain a focus on the Bank’s Christ-centered culture. Â
Management of credit risks through analysis and recommendation of approvals for facilities within the Institutions tolerable risk levelsÂ
Performing quality assurance checks on revenue assurance and system surveillance on loan modulesÂ
Ensure high turnaround time (TAT) for Credit proposals Â
Co-ordinate efforts together with Risk, Internal Audit, Credit Administration and Branches to ensure adherence to the Bank’s Credit Policy and lending guidelinesÂ
Work closely with both the Manager - Credit Analysis and Head of Credit to maintain appropriate credit risk management cultureÂ
Review loan security margins as per the existing market trends and advise the management on any necessary reviews.Â
Recommend policy reviews for customer experience improvement and risk management improvement based on experiences and industry trends Â
Monitor, on a continuous basis, all transactions to ensure that unusual and suspicious transactions are reported to the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO)Â
Implementing and enforcing the board approved AML, KYC & CFT policy in as far as is applicable within credit risk analysis Â
Performing quality assurance checks on revenue assurance and system surveillance on loan modules and report anomalies noted.Â

An undergraduate Bachelor’s degree in a Business-related field from a recognized institution.Â
Professional qualifications in  Credit e.g CCP, Credit Risk Assessment , CPA are an added advantage.Â
At least 5 years’ relevant experience in appraising SME, Group and Individual Micro loans Â
Numerical ability to analyze and interpret financial statementsÂ
Report writing and presentation skills Â
High degree of confidentiality Â
Clear understanding of microfinance/banking industry is an added advantage. Â
Good interpersonal & communication skills with excellent customer service. Â
A team player with the drive to improve performance. Â
Proficient computer skillsÂ
Self-driven and possess the ability to work with minimum supervisionÂ
