Purpose
Our client in the retail industry is seeking to hire an Internal Procurement Buyer to manage all internal purchase requests made for or by the company as per the Internal Procurement Policies and SOPs, while always guaranteeing the best possible price, service delivery, and quality from the market. They are additionally in charge of planning, prioritizing, reporting and ensuring that the needs of the business are met adequately and in a timely manner as requested by the internal departments or assigned to them by their immediate supervisor. The role supports business objectives through strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and category growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct quarterly market checks, market studies, and analysis in the source markets, and prepare and submit price comparison reports with analysis for management approval.
Negotiate the best prices for internal consumption products while maintaining both quantity and quality in consideration and contract purchases for recurring supplies.
Arrange for the clearance of consumption commodities from air/seaports and the transportation of materials to the enterprise.
Communicate with Department Heads about the status of proposed consumption purchases and keep management up to date on the situation.
Analyze category performance and recommend assortment adjustments.
