Job Summary
Key Responsibilities
Safe Transportation: Safely drive company vehicles, including light cargo vans, pickups, and light trucks, to deliver products to designated client locations in compliance with traffic laws and delivery schedules.
Logistics & Manual Handling: Responsible for the efficient loading and unloading of animal nutrition products while ensuring proper handling and safety of goods during transit.
Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct daily routine inspections including fuel, oil, brakes, electrical systems, and tyre pressure; while maintaining the overall cleanliness and proper condition of assigned vehicles to ensure they remain in excellent working order.
Stock & Inventory Support: Assist in stock handling, movement tracking, and warehouse coordination through proper inventory checks, counting, and product verification.
Record Keeping**:** Maintain accurate delivery records, mileage logs, fuel consumption, maintenance schedules, stock movement records, and basic computerized reports.
Route Planning: Plan efficient delivery routes within Nairobi and its outskirts using GPS navigation or Google Maps to ensure timely order fulfillment and fuel efficiency.
Compliance & Safety: Adhere strictly to NTSA regulations, road safety laws, company policies, and warehouse dispatch protocols.
Reporting: Promptly report any vehicle malfunctions, accidents, delays, stock discrepancies, or mechanical issues to management.
Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service and maintain professionalism when interacting with clients and handling goods during deliveries.
Documentation Management: Ensure all necessary vehicle documents, including insurance, logbooks, and licenses, remain up to date.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Minimum KCSE Certificate or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of proven experience driving light commercial vehicles, pickups, or light trucks.
Licensing: Valid driving license with at least Class B and C1.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in basic Computer Applications (Microsoft Office, email) and digital reporting tools.
Stock Knowledge: Basic stock keeping, inventory tracking, and warehouse record management skills.
Knowledge: Strong familiarity with Nairobi roads, routes, and surrounding counties.
Certifications: A valid Certificate of Good Conduct is mandatory; defensive driving training is an added advantage.
Physical Fitness: Physically fit and capable of manual loading and unloading of goods.
Professionalism: High level of maturity, integrity, and responsibility, paired with excellent communication skills and a professional demeanour.
Flexibility: Ability to work independently and flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, or holidays when delivery demands require.
