Basic Salary Scale: Kshs. 42,500 - Ksh 80,000 p.m.
House allowance: Kshs. 10,000
Commuter allowance: Kshs. 12,000
Leave allowance: Kshs. 4,000 (Annually)
Terms of service: Permanent and Pensionable
Reporting to: Senior Trainer Marine Engineering
Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties and Responsibilities entail
Designing, developing and delivering of training programmes.
The development of Maritime Education and Training (MET) policies.
Developing and reviewing curriculum.
Developing the school calendar and time-tabling.
The development, evaluation of teaching, learning and assessment materials.
Supervising trainees' practical sessions, Trade Projects and Business plans.
Marking internal examinations.
Maintaining students' attendance and performance records.
Ensuring workshop equipment are well maintained and in working condition.
Required Qualification
For appointment to this grade, a staff must have: -
Relevant sea time / sea service experience will be an added advantage.
Approval by Kenya Maritime Authority would be an added advantage
Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering from a University recognized in Kenya;
Officer in Charge of an Engineering Watch (OICEW) – Regulation III/1 Certificate of Competency (CoC); Second Engineer – Regulation III/3 (Limited to 750–3,000 kW) Certificate of Competency.
Proficiency in computer applications.
