Our client is a premium inbound destination management company with an established presence in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Botswana, Namibia and South Africa. The company specializes in personalized travel services, including private guided tours, FIT arrangements, group travel and MICE products.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, commercially astute and strategically driven professional to join the company's senior leadership team as IME Team Leader.
The Role
Key Responsibilities
Develop new business across corporate, incentive, association and travel-trade markets.
Build and manage a strong sales pipeline and strategic client relationships.
Lead the preparation of competitive proposals, quotations, itineraries and presentations.
Ensure pricing meets approved profitability targets.
Plan and oversee conferences, incentive programmes, exhibitions, corporate events and inbound leisure groups.
Coordinate venues, accommodation, transport, guides, entertainment and other logistics.
Negotiate competitive terms and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
Monitor revenue, margins, service quality and operational risks.
Lead and mentor the IME Assistant.
Represent the company at relevant trade shows, roadshows and industry events.
Requirements
Degree or diploma in Tourism, Hospitality, Business, Events Management or a related field.
At least five years' experience in tourism, destination management or hospitality, including three years in a supervisory role.
Experience managing inbound leisure groups, conferences or incentive programmes.
Proven sales, business development and client relationship management experience.
Strong commercial, negotiation and project management skills.
Excellent written and spoken English.
Experience using Tourplan and Wetu would be an advantage.
Additional language skills would be an added advantage.
