For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have a Bachelors degree in any of the following disciplines: Petroleum Geochemistry, Petroleum Geo-Science, Petroleum Chemistry, Geology, Chemistry, Petroleum Exploration and Production, Analytical Chemistry, Earth Science, Industrial Chemistry, Exploration Geo-Chemistry or Chemistry and Mathematics from a university recognized in Kenya.
Duties and Responsibilities
This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer. Duties and responsibilities will include:-
collecting and compiling petroleum related geochemical data
assisting in execution of planned geochemical field surveys for oil & gas projects;
participating in basin analysis using geochemical petroleum data;
participating in the preparation of petroleum related reports; and
compiling oil and gas information for relevant stakeholders.
