REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT
Diploma in Community Oral Health from Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) or any other recognized institution.
Have successfully completed one-year mandatory internship.
A Registration Certificate by Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
A Valid practicing license from Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
Proficiency in computer application skills.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform comprehensive oral examinations, analyze dental X-rays, and diagnose common dental conditions.
Execute procedures within your approved scope, such as dental restorations (fillings), simple non-surgical extractions, and oral prophylaxis.
Provide immediate pain management and basic emergency oral health services.
Identify complicated dental conditions and refer patients appropriately to specialized dental surgeons.
Maintain accurate patient records and rigorously uphold infection prevention and control standards
Counsel patients on proper oral hygiene practices, brushing/flossing techniques, and dietary habits.
Apply preventive treatments like fluoride applications and fissure sealants.
Organize and participate in community oral health outreaches, school dental health programs, and general wellness events.
Develop and implement initiatives designed to raise awareness about the prevention of oral diseases at the grassroots level.
Collect and analyze data on oral health indicators to assist local health authorities in developing targeted health initiatives
