The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing cash and supplier payments, and ensuring full statutory and tax compliance in a high-volume, fast-paced operational environment. This is a hands-on role requiring strong internal controls, high accuracy, and the ability to manage large transaction volumes with integrity and efficiency. Financial Management & Petty Cash Control: Maintain accurate books of accounts and general ledger; Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports; Process bank and petty cash payments and perform reconciliations; Ensure all payments are properly approved and supported; Conduct daily reconciliations and post transactions into the accounting system; Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management; Maintain fixed asset register; Support month-end and year-end closing and audits. Creditors Management: Maintain accurate creditors ledger; Verify, post, and file supplier invoices with proper documentation; Prepare creditors ageing reports; Schedule and process supplier payments in line with agreed terms; Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies; Apply and account for withholding tax (WHT) accurately. Tax & Statutory Compliance: Prepare and file VAT, PAYE, WHT, and Corporation Tax returns; Ensure correct VAT treatment on expenses and export sales; Reconcile tax ledger accounts and monitor statutory deadlines; Ensure compliance with NSSF, SHA, and Housing Levy; Support KRA audits and liaise with tax consultants; Strong working knowledge of KRA iTax system required. Systems & Internal Controls: Post transactions accurately in accounting software; Maintain strong internal controls over cash and payments; Ensure proper documentation and audit trails.
